NIPCO COMMISSI0NS NEW STORAGE FACILITY IN LAGOS
Nipco plc, an integrated oil and gas operator has inaugurated new product storage facility to boost the company’s efforts at meeting the growing demands by its esteemed customers. The new facility consisting of three tanks with a total storage capacity of about 35million litres of white products was commissioned by the company’s Managing Director, Venkataraman Venkatapathy in company of top management staff and scores of the firm employees.
Speaking at the historic event, Mr Venkatapathy said the additional tank farms said a vindication of the company’s belief in the resilience of the Nigerian economy stressing ”even though this is about the most challenging times for the country as a whole and the economy in particular, there is still a lot of hope for better days ahead. According to him, concerted efforts will be made to ensure that we surmount the tough operating environment with the active support of the workforce and other stakeholders .
He implored the safety department to re double their efforts to ensure that these additional storage platforms are safe in terms of human and material resource in the area adding that greater adherence to all safety rules and efficiency.
The Managing Director who dedicated the facility dubbed” Buffer Tank Farm” to employees in the company urged everyone to make good use of the new storage in the best interest of the stakeholders .
Earlier in his remark GM Terminal operations, Suresh Kumar said the new facility is a fallout of the re-strategizing efforts of management for optimum growth of the company. He noted that that the facility was put in place to address the need for additional storage by way of expansion of the existing ones.
The GM commended the enviable role of the contractors as well as the regulatory agencies for giving all the support and encouragement in the course of the project .
